No plan authorises selling, reselling, sublicensing or redistributing data obtained through Cotizave without Cotizave’s prior written authorisation. This includes Gratis, paid plans and higher-volume allocations. Buying a plan, increasing the quota or receiving credits does not grant that permission. If you need to redistribute data, we can assess a special redistribution licence for your use case without requiring you to subscribe to a particular plan beforehand. It requires Cotizave’s express approval and an agreement that may be concluded electronically, subject to the rights available from the underlying sources. Capacity and commercial terms are agreed for each case. This guide summarises the Terms of Use, which define the contractual scope.

Integrating data into your application

All plans, including Gratis, allow references to be used within your application’s features, including commercial applications, subject to the service terms and applicable source conditions. This integration does not allow offering quotes or historical records as a data product that third parties can independently query, download or reuse.

Point-of-sale systems and applications for other businesses

You may operate an application used by other companies or merchants, including charging for your software. For example, your server queries reference, stores the rate and its effective_date, and displays them within a point-of-sale system to convert sales from USD to VES. This use is permitted on Gratis, within its limits, and does not require a special redistribution licence. Merchants using your application do not need a Cotizave account for this integrated use. The API key stays on your server, and aggregate usage counts against your account’s quota. Communication between your backend and your interface for these features is permitted; credentials are not given to merchants or browsers. If the product starts offering an API, feed or rate files for merchants to reuse outside those features, it requires a redistribution assessment. Charging for your point-of-sale software does not, by itself, turn the integration into data resale. Query frequency and data applicability are separate considerations. A daily query may fit within the quota while still leaving an outdated reference. Retain the rate and value date and validate its applicability to each transaction; see the BCV integration guide.

What requires authorisation

  • Selling or delivering data for independent querying or reuse through another API, proxy, feed or set of files.
  • Redistributing snapshots, historical records or webhook notifications, including free distribution.
  • Bundling access to that data in a commercial package or white-label service.
Changing JSON to CSV/XML, storing a copy, applying a markup or combining sources does not grant redistribution rights. Sharing an API key is also prohibited.

Provider and original source

Crediting Cotizave and linking to its website are optional on all plans, including Gratis, and in authorised redistribution. Omitting them requires no payment or additional permission. Attribution required by original sources and other providers remains applicable independently. In authorised redistribution, you must preserve the original provenance and those attributions under their respective conditions. Cotizave does not claim to originate a rate published by BCV, an exchange or another entity, and its authorisation does not remove third-party rights. See sources and attribution. If you choose to credit Cotizave, you may use “Data provided by Cotizave” and link to cotizave.com. For BCV, “BCV rate · Data provided by Cotizave” distinguishes the original source from the service. This voluntary credit does not grant resale rights or replace required third-party attributions. The licence for the skill’s code and examples is separate from permission to use real service data.

Requesting a special redistribution licence

Email support@cotizave.com with the data you need, who will receive it, how it will be delivered, whether you will charge for it and how required third-party attributions will be provided. Cotizave assesses each case and may decline the request. The agreement must expressly define the authorised data, uses, recipients, channels, duration, required third-party attributions, capacity and commercial terms. The agreement may be concluded using an electronic signature or an exchange of communications that identifies the parties and records Cotizave’s express approval and your acceptance, in accordance with applicable law. A complete, accessible copy must be retained, including its version and the approval and acceptance dates. Submitting a request, registering, paying for a plan or accepting the general terms does not activate this licence.
