Integration context

The official skill provides authentication, quota, freshness and error guidance with synthetic examples. It helps an agent integrate the API, but does not replace contract review or project tests.

Installation

For Claude Code, the repository publishes this plugin:
For manual installation, copy the entire skills/cotizave folder, including its resources, into your agent’s skills directory. Codex supports .agents/skills/cotizave/ in the project. Review any existing copy before replacing it. See the package’s installation methods and compatibility for other agents; plugin commands differ between tools.

Usage and language

In Claude Code, invoke /cotizave:cotizave; in Codex, use $cotizave. You can request the integration in Spanish or English. Prompt language does not change field names. The published skill describes the Venezuelan API; it does not contain an Australian contract. Example: “Integrate BCV into my backend with Cotizave; retain the value date and test error handling with mocked responses.”

Credentials

Installing the skill does not require an API key. Your application reads COTIZAVE_API_KEY on the server. Do not paste the key into chat. The optional check-key.sh diagnostic makes a real request and consumes quota; it is not part of local tests.

Verification and limitations

Declared compatibility does not mean installation and code generation have been tested with every agent. Read the package evidence and evaluations. Fixtures do not verify production. If an installed version differs from this reference, check its version against the backend. In particular, /spread requires Esencial or higher; bulk uses amounts and market and rejects incompatible base currencies or directions. Do not use older guidance to bypass these validations.
