GET /v1/fx/index · All plans · One quota unit. Returns an informational reference in VES per USD.

Request

No parameters required. Supports response formats. Run these examples on your server. JavaScript and Python use the clients in the quickstart; configure COTIZAVE_API_KEY there.

Response

Illustrative response: figures and dates are not current quotes.
value is rounded to four decimal places. version identifies the methodology; do not prepend another v. as_of is the snapshot timestamp, not the request time. weights holds effective weights, components holds included values, and p2p_count is the number of markets remaining after filtering. flags is {} when no flag applies. methodology_url links to the methodology.

Calculation

Missing components and BCV flagged as stale receive zero weight; remaining weights are normalised to sum to one. Read the full methodology.

Display the index

Use the client from the quickstart. Retain the value, version, components and timestamp when recording estimates.

Informational reference

The index is neither an official rate nor an executable quote. It does not replace the rate required for an invoice, contract or settlement.

Errors

503 service_unavailable when no usable component remains. In /rates, a calculation failure may omit index without invalidating the other rates. The common errors for authentication, quota and availability also apply. API error responses are JSON; branch on code, not on the text of message.
